AI VTuber Avatar Generator

VTuber-aesthetic 2D portraits ready for Live2D rigging, PNGtuber tools, or as a static streaming avatar — generated from one photo.

QtPie generates 2D VTuber-style avatars across two dedicated sub-styles in under 20 seconds. Outputs have clean alpha edges and face-centered composition suitable for Live2D Cubism rigging or PNGtuber tools like Veadotube Mini. Pro plan outputs are HD enough for high-zoom rigging workflows.

VTubing has gone from a niche Japanese phenomenon to one of the largest streaming categories on Twitch and YouTube — top VTubers regularly clear millions of subscribers, and the long tail of indie VTubers numbers in the hundreds of thousands globally. The barrier to entry, though, has historically been the avatar: a custom Live2D rig from a freelance artist runs $500-$2,000 and takes 4-8 weeks. A 3D VRoid model is faster but visually less distinctive. PNGtubing is the cheapest path, but it still requires a base character image — and that's where QtPie fits. QtPie's VTuber Core style produces a clean, anime-influenced portrait with the lighting, line work, and color choices common to Live2D-rigged characters: bright eyes, well-defined facial features, soft hair shading, and minimal background detail to keep alpha edges clean for rigging. Stellar Girl pushes into the 'magical girl' / cosmic-aesthetic territory popular among indie VTubers — gradient hair, sparkle particles, celestial framing. For PNGtubers, the QtPie output drops directly into Veadotube Mini, PNGTuber Plus, or similar tools as a base character image. For Live2D builds, the output is a starting point — you'll still need to take it into Live2D Cubism or commission a rigger to add motion, but you've cut weeks off the typical timeline by skipping the character-design phase. VRoid (the popular 3D VTuber tool) accepts 2D reference images for hair-color matching and outfit design — a QtPie output works as that reference. The same applies to ReadyPlayerMe-to-VRChat conversions where you want a 2D version of your VR persona for stream overlays and social media.

Glossary

VTuber
A creator who streams or produces video content using a virtual character avatar — typically a 2D Live2D rig or a 3D model. The avatar is animated in real time by the creator's face tracking and microphone, allowing them to perform without showing their actual face on camera.
PNGtuber
A creator using a static or lightly-rigged 2D PNG character image instead of a full Live2D or 3D rig. PNGtubing is significantly cheaper to set up than VTubing — the avatar may switch between a few states (closed-mouth, open-mouth, blinking) but doesn't have the smooth motion of Live2D.
Live2D
A 2D animation technology that adds depth and motion to flat character art. Live2D rigs can move eyes, mouth, head, and body parts based on face-tracking input. Rigs are built in Live2D Cubism software (~$40/year indie tier). Most 2D VTubers use Live2D.
Rigging (avatar)
The process of preparing a 2D or 3D character for animation by adding a deformable skeleton, blendshapes, and tracking points. A rigged 2D avatar can react to face-tracking in real time. Rigging a Live2D character takes 5-30 hours depending on complexity.
