The TAKE IT DOWN Act is a US federal law that requires online platforms to remove non-consensual intimate imagery — including AI-generated “deepfake” imagery — within 48 hours of receiving a valid request from the depicted individual or their authorized representative.
What This Page Covers
This page explains who can submit a report, what we commit to, and how to send us one. It applies to any content generated, uploaded, or hosted on QtPie.com that falls within the scope of the TAKE IT DOWN Act.
What Counts as a Covered Report
A covered report is a request to remove non-consensual intimate imagery of a real, identifiable person. This includes imagery that has been altered, edited, or synthesized by AI to depict the person in an intimate context without their consent.
Reports about other types of content — for example, copyright claims or general community-guidelines violations — should go through the channels listed in our Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy instead.
Who May Submit a Report
- The depicted individual. The person shown in the imagery.
- A parent or legal guardian. Acting on behalf of a minor depicted in the imagery.
- An authorized representative. For example, an attorney or agent acting on the depicted person's behalf.
You must affirm, under penalty of perjury, that you are one of the parties above. A report without that affirmation is not a valid TAKE IT DOWN Act notice, and we cannot act on it.
How to Submit a Report
Submit reports through our intake form at /report. The form will collect your contact email, the URL of the content if you have it, a description of the request, your relationship to the depicted person, and your affirmation.
The form is the fastest path. If you cannot use the form, email [email protected] with the same information; email submissions are reviewed on the same 48-hour SLA, but missing information may delay review while we confirm details with you.
48-Hour Review Commitment
We commit to reviewing every compliant report within 48 hours of receipt. “Review” means a human on our team reads the report, evaluates whether it falls within the scope of the TAKE IT DOWN Act, and takes one of the following actions: (a) removes the content and notifies you, (b) asks you for clarification or additional information, or (c) declines the request and explains why.
The 48-hour clock starts when a report arrives in our intake system. Reports submitted on a weekend or holiday are still reviewed within 48 hours.
What Happens After Removal
When we remove content in response to a compliant report, we also take reasonable steps to identify and remove copies of the same image that we host. We delete the content from our storage and from any caches we control.
We retain a record of the report, the review decision, and the action taken for our audit trail. We do not retain the removed content itself. If the person who originally uploaded the content appeals the removal, we may contact you before reinstating, and we will not reinstate content that remains within the scope of the TAKE IT DOWN Act.
Abuse of the Reporting Process
Submitting a false report — for example, requesting removal of content that does not depict you or that you have no authority to act on — is a violation of our Terms of Service and may also expose you to legal liability under federal or state law. The affirmation on the intake form is a sworn statement.
